At the Fanwood meeting of Mayor and Council on December 18th, recognition and gratitude filled the room as the Mayor honored outgoing Councilman Kevin Boris for his dedication to the Borough and celebrated resident Volunteer of the Month, Greg Roser.

Mayor Colleen Mahr wishes outgoing Councilman Kevin Boris all the best during his last Council meeting. Kevin, a two term Councilman, was joined at the podium by his wife Jess and daughters Bronwyn and Emma. During his tenure, Kevin championed curbside recycling, which finally started in Fanwood in 2016, and was largely responsible for the Open Space Tax, a small tax levy that will raise $24,000 a year for the Borough to use for recreation, conservation and historic preservation. Kevin is an attorney who will next serve on the Fanwood Planning Board. “It’s been a pleasure and an honor to serve,” said Boris. “Thank you to the citizens of Fanwood.”

Greg Roser, whose spectacular Christmas decorations have attracted folks from far and wide to his home at 83 Paterson Road in Fanwood, received Volunteer of the Month honors from Mayor Colleen Mahr and the Fanwood Council at tonight’s Council meeting. Mr. Roser, seen with wife June and daughter Victoria, uses the display to raise money for the NJ Institute for Disabilities which, among other things, operates the Lakeview School in Edison. Mr. Roser expressed appreciation for the overwhelming outpouring of generosity of those who have visited his home.
