The final performance of the 2016 fall season Fanwood Performance Series will feature Rupert Wates and Florian Schantz Jazz Combo, Saturday, November 12 at 7 p.m.

Rupert Wates was born in London and has been a full-time songwriter since the late 1990s. He worked extensively with Jazz vocalist Liz Fletcher, and wrote the album ‘Blue Afternoons’ (Mainstem, 2002) specially for her voice. Moving in 2001 to Paris, Wates formed his own quartet and began playing regularly and in fall 2006 he came to the US. His website is rupertwatesmusic.com.

The Florian Schantz Jazz Combo is reviving authentic hot jazz in all its glory. The band is led by award-winning Florian Schantz, a fiery 14-year-old trumpet player from Westfield who has played over 200 performances all over NJ and NY. He’s been running the band since he was 9 years old.  For more information about the Florian Schantz Jazz Combo, visit: VFSJazz.com
