**Vehicle Crimes and Exterior Cameras**
The Borough has recently seen an increase in vehicle-related crimes including burglaries and thefts. Along with locking your car doors and bringing personal property inside your house, we highly encourage residents with exterior cameras (Ring, Nest, etc) to ensure that they are working properly. This evidence is pivotal to identifying and apprehending criminals.
Along with checking your smoke detectors every six months (e.g., when the clocks change), we recommend the following regarding your exterior-facing cameras:
1. Clean and inspect lenses periodically to guarantee a clear picture.
2. Check that the wiring is connected and operable.
3. Replace batteries (if applicable).
4. Adjust the sensitivity settings to allow for the recording of all movement on your property.
5. Log into your app periodically.
