Here’s what you need to know about recycling for the rest of the summer:

  • Every Wednesday, the recycling center will be open 2:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. to accept all recyclables including plastics, glass, aluminum, tin, cardboard, newspapers, mixed paper, electronics, clothing, motor oil, scrap metal and fluorescent bulbs. The Wednesday program will continue until curbside collection begins. There is no more Saturday service at the center and the Wednesday recycling program is for Fanwood residents only.
  • The curbside program will begin in October. Each home will receive a 96-gallon bin to hold all curbside recyclables which can be co-mingled. We will have a schedule established soon for residents to bring non-curbside items including electronics, motor oil, scrap metal and fluorescent bulbs, to our Public Works facility.
  • More detailed information will be mailed to each home prior to the start of the curbside program

We appreciate everyone’s patience during this transition. Questions may be addressed to our Public Works Department, (908) 322-7404, or the Mayor’s Office, (908) 322-8236.
